After 14 months in development, hopefully it will – nah, it isn’t quite worth it. Still!

Yes. I am aware that I did not post in over a year on my own site. GJ me.

But, on the other hand, I did decide to keep it running, rather than digress to the mere figments of Twitter posts and Google Sites and so on. I may not keep my own site in best order, but having my own site feels more rewarding and kinda fulfils an adolescent ideal that came out of the 00s.

I will be posting my works from July 2020 to now in a later post, but will first go full blog mode and say a few things to reflect on the past while.
So, things that happened include:

  • Getting my jabs, of course!
  • Working side jobs delivering takeaway whilst helping family members with their life things. It’s not much, but it’s a way to keep busy
  • A car accident that totalled my vehicle, but fortunately, no one was hurt badly and things worked in my favour
  • Dealing with pandemic fatigue as I best can. (It feels worse this year than it did last year, and I think this has affected my creative output too)
  • A few holidays after getting jabs, meeting with friends for the first time in over a year
  • Consoling and advising friends and others amidst…well, everything
  • Learning new materials, of course, whilst increasingly coming to understand what I’m possibly specialising with and focusing on.

Laundry list, yes, but I feel like things will be getting better bit-by-bit. Already things are looking better on the professional work side.

I do have some plans for next month, but it isn’t Inktober other than perhaps the use of traditional drawing materials. More to come there.

I hope all of you have been well, and off I go to write the second part of this.
